Program Officer Disability Rights Fund (DRF), Malawi

Chrissy Zimba is a passionate human rights and disability justice advocate from Malawi, with over a decade of experience advancing inclusive development, social protection, and economic empowerment for persons with disabilities. She currently serves as a Program Officer at the Disability Rights Fund (DRF), where she leads strategic support for organizations of persons with disabilities and promotes equitable participation in governance and development processes. With a background in Information and Communication Technology and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Governance from Africa University in Zimbabwe, Chrissy’s expertise bridges technology, policy, and advocacy. Her career spans national and international institutions, including the African Union Commission and the American Association of People with Disabilities, where she contributed to influential research and policy initiatives on disability rights, youth, and the demographic dividend.

A 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow, Chrissy is especially committed to creating equal employment opportunities and accessible services for young people and women with disabilities. Her work continues to influence disability-inclusive policy frameworks across Malawi and the African region.
