Program Lead at Asociación ANDES Foundation, USA

Sara Argumedo Gomez is Program Lead at Asociación ANDES Foundation, where she supports Indigenous-led grantmaking and community-defined strategies across Abya Yala. Her work involves accompanying Indigenous communities in the design and implementation of funding processes that strengthen self-governance, sustain ancestral territories, and nurture the interconnected well-being of people and Mother Earth.

Rooted in her own Quechua and Colombian cultural traditions, Sara’s work centers Indigenous health systems, collective well-being, and long-term accompaniment. She plays a central role in the Indigenize Fund, an initiative hosted by Asociación ANDES that challenges conventional philanthropy by advancing community-led funding models rooted in Indigenous governance, autonomy, and shared decision-making. The Fund’s structure emerged from a gathering of Indigenous leaders who shaped its direction and continue to guide its governance today. Through this work, Sara contributes to building financial pathways that reflect Indigenous values, strengthen local processes, and support how communities care for their territories, relationships, and futures. She holds a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Toronto and is committed to supporting movements that protect land, life, and self-determination.
